Friends of Pompeys Pillar protects the Pompeys Pillar National Monument through, education, interpretive talks, and special projects that further enhance the Monument .

We recruit and train volunteers to insure all visitors have an accurate and enjoyable experience.

Our education program consist of our teacher tote program, classroom presentations, and school tours to the Monument. We have several teacher totes that we loan to classes; each contains a lesson plan and items to be used to teach about the people of the Corps of Discovery, Geography, History, and other aspects of the Expedition. We also have volunteers who go into class to make presentations to students about the Lewis and Clark Expedition. Finally we provide busing for students to come out to the Pillar and have a "feet on the ground" experience.

Friends of Pompeys Pillar continues to develop projects; in 2016 we worked on new signs for the interpretive river walk, a display about Canoe Camp, developing a Native American Teepee, planting native trees, celebrated Clark Days, and several other smaller projects.
